Ingredients for semiya khichdi | upma


 

  • semiya 1 cup
  • chopped mixed vegetables 1 cup
  • onion 2
  • tomato 2
  • green chilli 4
  • turmeric powder ΒΌ tsp
  • oil 1 tsp
  • ghee 2 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • mustard 1 tsp
  • urad dhall 2 tsp
  • chana dhall 2 tsp
  • curry leaves few
    • Preparation of semiya khichdi | upma

      • 1. Wash and chop all the vegetables

        2. Roast the semiya in a tsp of ghee

        3. Heat oil and the remaining ghee in a kadhai add mustard, urad dhall and chana dhall and saute

        4. Add the chopped chillies and onions and saute till golden brown

        5. Add the chopped tomatoes, vegetables, turmeric powder and salt and saute for two to three mins

        6. Add three cups of water and boil it and add the semiya and stir continuously till the semiya is cooked on medium flame
