The following recipe is that of a Vegetable Biryani that i have commonly seen in North India . The dish is absolutely a treat and would make you hook onto Veg Biryani forever.
Ingredients for Hyderabadi Vegetable biryani Recipe
Basmati rice 2 cup
Onion 2
Tomato 3
Green chilli 2
Sour curd ¼ cup
Chilli powder 1 tsp
Turmeric powder ¼ tsp
Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
Coriander and pudhina leaves ½ cup
Salt to taste
Carrot 1
Potato 1
Peas ¼ cup
Lemon juice 2 tsp
Coconut milk 1 cup
Butter 1 tsp
Cinnamon 1
Cardamon 4
Cloves 3
Oil 2 tsp
Ghee 2 tsp
How to Prepare Hyderabadi Vegetable biryani
1. Wash and soak the rice for half an hour
2. Chop all the ingredients
3. In a cooker add oil and ghee and add the cinnamon, cloves and cardamon and saute
4. Add slit green chillies and chopped onions and saute
5. Add chopped vegetables, pudhina and coriander and saute and then add turmeric powder, chilli powder and salt and ginger garlic paste
6. After five mins add the butter, coconut milk and two cups of water and the soaked rice and cook till one whistle
