Brinjal Vatha | Puli | Kara Kuzhambu | Kathirikai Puli Kulambu recipe



Brinjal vaththa kulambhu is a south Indian Brinjal recipe.This is a great healthy and delicious side dish recipe with a number of other nutritious side dish c0mbining to give a great side dish.

Ingredients of Brinjal Vatha | Puli | Kara Kuzhambu | Kathirikai Puli Kulambu recipe

 Toor dhall ¼ cup     
 Brinjal vaththal 10     
 Onions 2     
 Tomato 2     
 Tamarind lemon size     
 Chilli powder 2 tsp     
 Coriander powder 2 tsp     
 Turmeric powder ¼ tsp     
 Salt to taste     
 Mustard ½ tsp     
 Urad dhall 1 tsp     
 Fenugreek ½ tsp     
 Oil ¼ cup     
 Curry leaves few        

 Preparation of Brinjal Vatha | Puli | Kara Kuzhambu | Kathirikai Puli Kulambu recipe

1. Cook the dhalls as non smashy. Squeeze the lemon with two or three cups of water and filter it     
 2. Soak the kathiri vaththal in half cup of boiling water     
 3. Chop the onions and tomatoes     
 4. Heat oil in a pan add mustard, jeera, fenugreek and curry leaves and saute     
 5. To this add the chopped onion, tomato and saute and add the chilli powder, tamarind juice, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt and boil well     
 6. When the gravy starts thickening add the brinjal pieces and cooked dhall and boil the gravy for few mins and serve     
 7. For kathir vathal chop the brinjal to pieces as finger like add salt and cook it and dry it in sunlight till crisp and can be stored in containers
