Ingredients for Kovakkai(Coccinia grandis) masala fry | poriyal | kootu recipes

Kovakkai ΒΌ kg
Red chilli 10
Small onion 6
Grated coconut 3 tsp
Coconut oil 5 tsp
Salt to taste

Preparation of Kovakkai(Coccinia grandis) masala fry | poriyal | kootu recipes

1. Wash and chop the kovakkai as small roundels

2. Grind coconut, red chilli and onion to a coarse paste

3. To the chopped kovakkai add the masala and mix well

4. Heat oil in a kadhai add the chopped pieces with masala and a little salt and close the lid and cook on stirring inbetween till they are cooked finely
