Chana Dal ( known in the south as Kadale or parippu,Sanaga Pappu in Andhra ) in the south recipe. This can be commonly seen in the special occasion and festivals such as wedding and festivals. Here main difference is that the sweeteness is given by jaggery rather that sugar.

1. Chana dhall 1 cup
2. Jaggery 100-150 gms
3. Milk 3-4 cups
4. Cardamom powder ½ tsp
5. Ghee 1-2 tsp
6. Cashews
7. Raisins few
How to Prepare kadalai paruppu payasam recipe | Chana Dal Payasam | Dal Kheer Recipe
1. Wash and soak the dhall and pressure cook it till cooked but not smashy it should be non sticky
2. Drain the excess water and keep it aside
3. Boil the milk in a pan and to this add the dissolved, filtered jaggery and allow it to boil
4. When it starts boiling add the cooked dal, cardamom powder and allow it to boil till a semisolid consistency is attained
5. Fry the dry fruits in ghee and add to the payasam and serve
