How to make Hyderabadi Fish Curry andhra style | andhra Spiced Coconut Fish Curry


This fish curry recipe belongs to one of the most authentic and popular non veg cuisines in the country. Hyderabadi Fish Curry or dum ki machli is spiced up well and is tasty with tit bits of coconut.

Ingredients for Hyderabadi Fish Curry andhra style | andhra Spiced Coconut Fish Curry


1. Cleaned fish 5-8 pieces

 

2. Oil 3-4 tsp

 

3. Bay leaf 1

 

4. Ginger a medium size piece

 

5. Garam masala 1 tsp

 

6. Red chilli 4-5

 

7.  powder ½ tsp

 

8. Chilli 3-4

 

9. Coconut milk 1 cup

 

10. Butter 1 tsp

 

11. Lime juice 2-3 tsp

 

12. Salt to taste

 

13. Aniseed 2 tsp

 

14. Jeera 2 tsp

 

15. Grated coconut 3 tsp

 

16. Tamarind lemon size

 

How to Prepare Hyderabadi Fish Curry andhra style | andhra Spiced Coconut Fish Curry

 

1. Soak the tamarind in excess of water and squeeze the juice from it


2. Clean, wash and marinate the pieces with turmeric powder, salt and limejuice for about 15-25 mins


3. Dry roast the aniseed, jeera and grind to a fine paste along with coconut and red chilli


4. Heat oil in a pan add mustard, split green chilli and the bay leaf and sauté till the chilli turns soft


5. Add the grinded paste and sauté till the oil separates out and the raw smeel goes off


6. Add the tamarind juice, garam masala and required salt and allow the gravy to boil


7. Add the marinated fish pieces and the coconut milk and bring to boil on a medium flame for about 5-7 mins

and then remove from fire and serve it hot
