A combination of fire and metal birth elements is highly challenging and destructive. It certainly requires a lot of patience and diligence. Since fire melts the metal, great care should be taken in applying feng shui in this case. The energy exchange is such that the person with fire element overpowers the one with metal element. Therefore interaction could be very sensitive.
When the above mentioned combination is found with your child, parent, sibling, spouse action is necessary to reduce friction and enable harmony. Earth element comes to the rescue. Earth element calms the fire and supports the metal. Earth elements could be kept in the southwest, northeast, northwest, west and centre of the residence. Crystals and stones are the best representation of earth. Rock crystals could be kept over the coffee table. The energy that it exudes brings tranquillity in the residence. Another option would be to paint the walls with earth element colours. Paintings of landscapes could be done on the wall. If the bagua or the eight sides along with the centre is carefully handled, this challenge could be conquered.
Also water elements like mirrors could be kept to drench the fire. A mirror placed over the fire place would be the right combination. These measures would enable a splendid co-existence between the fire and metal birth elements.
